I'm Amanda C., the breeder behind Amanda's Shih Tzus located in Running Springs, CA. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and intelligence. We strive to produce the best overall pets and family members. We fell in love with the breed because of their intelligence and personality. There’s hardly a better feeling than being able to share them with other families that will love them the way that we do!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My mother in law is a reputable breeder. After helping her assist with a delivery and getting to know her dogs our family decided to get into breeding. I say our family because it takes all hands on deck to keep these guys healthy and happy. You really have to love dogs to become a breeder. I love Shih Tzus because they are such wonderful companion dogs and are full of love and personality.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our pups are well socialized and very loved. They have their own room with a dog door to a large outdoor run. We live in the mountains so the dog run has to be very secure, but our little pack gets to play in the snow sometimes during winter which they absolutely love!

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black, liver, red, silver and white, black white and silver, brindle and white, gold and white, blue and white, red and white, liver and white, black gold and silver, black gold and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Amanda

Amanda has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Amanda partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 9 weeks old.

“We get to know our little pups and their temperaments. We usually prefer that more timid pups go to a calmer environment. However our more spunky pups we love to place with family’s, even with young children. They all get handled by our kiddos and that helps us to figure out how their little personality is developing.”

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes AKC, and first vaccination. We ask for non refundable deposits to ensure that if we do hold a puppy the buyer is serious, that way we are not holding it back from other opportunities of a good home.”

    Amanda was so responsive and knowledgeable about the breed of Shih Tzu‘s. I’m so lucky to have found Boba which I renamed to bear. He is adjusting quite great at my place and is very playful and energetic. Amanda is a great breeder and very knowledgeable in the this specific type of breed of dog. I would recommend her if you’re looking specifically for a Shih Tzu. Amanda is very communicative and gives updates on the dogs as well as you’re in the process of reserving one through the app.

    We were so excited to meet our new puppy and Amanda was so go to work with. She did a video chat with us and met us half way between to deliver our little man. We fell in love immediately! His name is now Gus! Gus is so good with people and other dogs. He's a snuggler and lover. He had his first vet appointment today and he weighs in at 4.5 lbs. at 17 weeks. He was so good, even the vet and staff commented on it. We love him so much and are so thankful for the quality pets that Amanda raises. I would recommend her to anyone who's looking for a precious little Shih Tzu
