I'm Gordon T., the breeder behind Briar Creek Kennels located in Statesboro, GA. We hold ourselves to high standards for the integrity of our program. All of our puppies are socialized, nurtured, and loved! Our puppies are raised in our home, and we strive to help each one grow up with confidence so they are ready to thrive with their new families.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I got into breeding after a very long stint working as a small animal transporter, traveling the United States. Over that time, I slowly collected all of my dogs to add into my program, and now I’ve taken a break to focus on breeding.

  • What makes your program special?

    My breathing program is special because of the time and effort spent building out. I have very diverse lines as well as some dogs with champion lines in their pedigree.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Pomeranian puppies include cream, blue, tri-colored, chocolate and tan, black and tan, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Animal Genetics Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Gordon was top-notch! He stayed in touch from beginning to end regarding Clarice. He was extremely knowledgeable about breed and very informative regarding puppy needs during the adjustment period of a new home, people, etc. When I met Gordon to pickup Clarice she was everything I imagined and more. He was very accommodating in workplace with us at an appropriate and safe meeting place. He greeted us with a HUGE bucket full of toys and necessities for a puppy, including a blanket that smelled like her mom/litter and Clarice inside the bucket! She looked like a toy.     I contacted Gordon about a specific pup (Emmer) in his current litter because I liked her look. After speaking with Gordon about my wants and needs, he directed me toward another pup (Semolina), one he believed would be a better fit, a pup he was considering keeping himself to add to his program. And I had to admit, she did seem like a very good fit for me based in what Gordon told me about her so we were matched up. Weeks passed as the litter grew older, got their vaccines and vet checks. Gordon regularly updated the photos of the litter, and we had a number of chats over the weeks. It was clear to me from the beginning that Gordon was more than just a breeder. He deeply cares about his pups and is very specific about who he matches them up with, giving each pup its best chance at success in finding its forever home right from the start. Finally “D-Day” arrived, and Gordon delivered my pup right to my door with a huge basket of toys, comb/brush, “eat slow” dish, blanket complete with the smell of her siblings, a toy that smelled like mom and more. He explained how to comb out hair tangles prior to brushing her hair and went over other specifics. I believe Gordon creates a bond with all of his pups, but I think he was extra bonded with Semolina (renamed Penelope), and the parting’s bittersweetness was evident. As I said in the beginning, Gordon is not just another breeder. He loves all his pups and vets potential owners to ensure good matches. I am very grateful that he selected me as a candidate to be a “pup parent” and that he matched me with my little lovebug Penelope! <3 I highly recommend Gordon as a breeder. He produces beautiful, healthy pups with lovely temperaments-pups that are loved and socialized right from their beginnings. And, on a personal note, I find him to be a bright light in a world that needs more humans like him.

    Gordon (and Tam) was top-notch! He stayed in touch from beginning to end regarding Cindy Lou (Liberty's Princess BELLA Lane). He was extremely knowledgeable about poodle breeds and we had a great opportunity to meet Gordon at the Veterinarian Hospital and all 8 puppies. Gordon was very informative regarding Bella's needs during the adjustment period of a new home, using the provided food, veterinarian first check-up, etc. When I met Tam to pickup Bella, she was everything I imagined and more. Tam was very accommodating with us at an appropriate and safe meeting place in Santee, SC. He greeted us with an abundant bucket full of toys and necessities for a puppy, including a blanket that smelled like her mom Liberty/7 litter-mates including Bella inside the bucket! Bella, the runt of the litter, looked exactly like her photos taken by Gordon/Tam. I can't thank Gordon/Tam enough and I enthusiastically recommend Briar Creek Kennels to anyone interested in a reliable, honest and very caring breeder of poodles.     I could not be more pleased with our newest family member, Loki, and my interaction with Gordon. Loki is an absolute delight—an irresistibly funny, OCD little kleptomaniac who insists on gathering all his toys (and whatever he mischievously steals from us!) into the tiny pet carrier we originally brought him home in. It’s almost too small for him now, but he still curls up in it proudly, as if it’s his personal treasure vault. His antics keep us laughing every single day. As for Gordon, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He truly loves his dogs and cares about the families who adopt them. From the first conversation, it was clear that he values making a thoughtful, intentional connection with each family. His communication was excellent, and he generously offered helpful insight about the breed, their personalities, and their training. I especially appreciated his invaluable guidance when my family was considering bringing home two puppies at once.
