I'm Sarah M., the breeder behind Court Jester Havanese and Russian Salon Dogs located in Kinston, NC. With over 30 years experience of breeding, raising dogs, and showing, we breed our Havanese to the AKC Standard. Our beautiful Russian Salon Dogs, also called "Mermaids" are all champion titled and registered with the RSDRA. Our dogs & puppies are raised in our home and are a huge part of our lives.

Why did you start breeding?
The love of dogs and breeding began when I was 10 years old. We started with a Bichon Frise and from there began our journey into the show world. After years of raising Bichons, the Havanese caught my attention and convinced my mom to show and breed them and now that she is retired, I am carrying on her legacy/love of Havanese and now also the rare breed, Russian Salon Dogs.What makes your program special?
Our dogs/puppies are part of our family and each one is special. All puppies are born with my help and I sleep by their side for at least their first week of life. As they grow, each puppy is loved and handled as if they were our very own, precious, forever pups. We love what we do and it shines through with each puppy in their new homes with the joy and blessings they bring their families.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Havanese puppies include white, cream, gold, red, chocolate, black, black and silver, red sable, and gold sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Sarah has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Sarah partners with them to find the best puppy match.
“I screen and approve buyers via my application and conversations. Once we are both comfortable that we are right for each other, I work to match them with a puppy I believe will be best suited for them based on their hopes, desires and lifestyle. Often times they choose a puppy which is also fine and I do my best to make them aware of their personality and energy levels to be certain they are the right match. ”
Price
“Two year guarantee against life threatening inheritable/genetic defects, first vet exam, vaccines, deworming if needed, kennel training, puppy pad/potty training, love, socialization, AKC limited registration, and all the love and hard work of raising amazing puppies. Complete payment is to be made two weeks before pick up. We require a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold a puppy. All deposits are deducted from the total amount due for pick up.”

Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

Sarah made this process so easy and seamless even from 700 miles away! She gave weekly updates and photos to bring me along from the moment we selected our pup. Beyond that, Sarah was able to provide so much detail on what to buy to stay consistent with how the pup was raised. She gave us knowledge of what is healthy for the pup and what is NOT and answered all my messages quickly. She was able to meet me at a convenient spot near the airport that suited both of us, no issues. We have now had our pup for almost 2 weeks and she is amazing :) healthy, happy, social, sleeping well, and potty training so easily. Working with Sarah was an absolute pleasure. I took had heard all the horror stories and the scams around adopting a puppy and I had questions galore for her in my first message. Sarah remained so sweet as she basically gave me a class on Havanese coat types. I had done my homework online but let's face it, I wasn't the expert.
