I'm the breeder behind Happy Shih Tzu Homes located in Normal, IL. We are specialized breeders, focused solely on Shih Tzus. We are an in-home breeding program. All of our babies stay at home with us. They live, eat and sleep with us. We believe every baby that we help bring into this world is a part of our family and is treated as such.

About Amanda
All our dams/sires in our program live strictly at home with us. We believe that a breeding program shouldn’t be about only breeding but about providing quality pets from our loving home to yours. All our puppies are socialized with other dogs, children, and elderly adults. Our babies constantly receive love and affection making them well rounded pets for any environment.
What makes Amanda’s program special
Our program is special and stands out because we believe every baby that we help bring into this world is a part of our family. Therefore, we offer forever rehoming for any of our puppies. This means if you ever get to a point where you are thinking of giving one of our babies to a shelter, we ask that you reach out to us. We will take the baby back and find a new loving home for them. We aren’t in the breeding business to make money, we are in the business to provide quality loving pets.

Getting a puppy from Amanda
Amanda has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices range from $1,600 - $2,000 and include a non-refundable deposit of $300.
“This price include a health guarantee, AKC papers, first round of shots and deworming and socialization of puppies with Adults, children, elderly adults and other dogs. Puppies pricing ranges based on color, sex and limited or full AKC paperwork.”
Contract and health guarantee
Amanda may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Amanda offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Amanda directly.
What's included
Enrichment and socialization
Our puppies live in home with us and our socialized with children, adults, elderly adults and other dogs. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Socialized with other animals, Introduced to people of different ages and appearances, Socialized with other dogs, Daily handling, Scent introduction, Socialized in new places, Socialized with children, Surface & tactile stimulation, Various sounds, Car rides, Socialization, Outdoors (when Weather permits), Chew, e.g. Bone, Toys, e.g. Ball, Noises , Household Desensitization, Socialized with Elderly, Socialized with Adult Dogs, Socialized with Children, Potty training in good weather., and Potty pads,.
Puppy health practices
All puppies come with a veterinary check, first round of shots and deworming and a health guarantee.
Extras
We send our puppies home with Initial potty training, Food & treats, Vet records, Blanket with mom & littermates’ scent, Vaccinations, Food Starter Bag, Toy with Mom's Scent, and AKC Registration.
Bringing your puppy home
Amanda offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
Pick up your puppy in Normal, IL or nearby
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.

Why Amanda started breeding
We got into breeding because we love the Shih Tzu breed. Each baby is so different and their colors and personalities can range so much, however, they all keep their sweet dispositions. This quality made us fall in love with the Shih Tzu breed and want to provide loving pets for others so they could experience the same joy that we do everyday.

Amanda’s program includes eight colors
Amanda’s Shih Tzu puppies include liver and white, liver, gold and white, gold, brindle and white, brindle, black and white, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
