Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Eldorado Ranch Mini Aussies located in New Waverly, TX. Eldorado Aussies is a family-owned Mini-Aussie farm dedicated to maintaining the quality and breed character of the Mini Aussie. Bred as a working stock dog Aussies and Mini Aussies have strong herding and guarding instincts. They are exceptionally intelligent and loyal making great companions. Mini Aussies are tireless and enthusiastic workers. Due to their protective nature, they can be reserved with strangers but should not present as shy. Although they dominate their herds assertively, aggression or viciousness is not acceptable in the breed standard.

Jennifer’s experience

  • About Jennifer

I fell in love with Mini Aussies when we got our first. Our girl Daisy was supposed to be a companion to my disabled husband, but she “picked” me. That meant finding Bear six months later, who was ideal for my husband Wes. We have never looked back. Our children are adults now and Wes and I love the environment that our home enjoys with breeding Aussies.

  • What makes Jennifer’s program special

Our dogs are our family members, each with their own quirks and unique personalities. Puppies are raised in our home, in an environment where they are loved on every day, and introduced early to the idea of experiencing life as an opportunity. We strive to produce confident, healthy, and beautiful lifetime companions and family members.

What's included

Enrichment and socialization

Using Puppy Culture, starting at birth, puppies are handled daily by me. At two weeks, when eyes start opening, they are introduced to other family members and at 3-4 weeks, to safe toys like balls and tugs. At three weeks, they also learn to utilize a litter box and by five weeks, rarely miss. We also begin introduction/desensitization to unusual noises, via cd on low volume, over the course of the next few weeks, gradually increasing this volume. At 4-5 weeks we will allow visits from potential puppy buyers, with appropriate precautions and sanitization. Pups are introduced to outdoor covered areas at week 5-6 depending on weather conditions and to the grass and playing outside starting at 6-7 weeks. At 7 weeks we introduce a crate to their play area, and they learn it is a safe space and not a penalty box. By six weeks, they are spending 4-6 hours a day outdoors, weather permitting. They are taught to sit at age 5 weeks and introduced to softened kibble so that by age 7-8 weeks dry kibble is their single food source. For puppies that are with me longer, we also introduce a doggie door and outdoor potty training. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Litter Box Trained, Toys, e.g. Ball, Outdoors, e.g. rain, and Potty Training.

Puppy health practices

Pups receive their first vet visit within three days of birth. They are weighed every day, twice a day for the first two weeks to assure healthy babies. The puppy space at our home is cleaned and sanitized every day. Deworming starts at 2 weeks at home, as recommended by our veterinarian, and occurs every 2 weeks until 8 weeks. Second vet visits, at 6-7 weeks, pups are checked and first vaccinations provided. At 8-9 weeks, pups go for second vaccinations and first heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. No Eldorado Ranch pups have ever left our home with worms or other parasites. A schedule of required 1st-year veterinary care (3rd and 4th round vaccinations, rabies, etc) and preventive care is provided to each puppy buyer to assure all expectations are well understood.

Extras

We send our puppies home with Registration, Food & treats, Toys, and Puppy starter kit.
