Meet the breeder
I'm the breeder behind Gold Treasure Retrievers located in Star, ID. We are dedicated to producing genetically sound, healthy, happy Golden Retrievers. Our dogs are extensively tested and our females are only bred a limited number of times. Our dogs are our pets and live a very pampered lifestyle. Puppies are raised in our home and have lots of socialization with kids and cats. AKC Registered, ESI, ENS and puppy culture.

About Krista
My name is Krista and I'm the main person behind Gold Treasure Retrievers. I have a passion for animals, I love how much purpose they give to my life. My husband is a Navy Veteran and is my biggest supporter. Together we are raising our two boys in Southwest Idaho and loving life!
What makes Krista’s program special
Our breeding program is dedicated to bettering the breed and only producing the highest of quality of puppies. We use puppy culture, ENS and ESI to ensure healthy well socialized puppies. Puppies are also Volhard tested to make sure you are matched with the right puppy for your family.

Getting a puppy from Krista
Krista has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices range from $2,000 and include a non-refundable deposit of $300.
“Price includes first vaccines, de-worming, and microchip. $300 non refundable deposit. Remaining balance due at pickup. Deposit can be transferred to a future litter.”
Contract and health guarantee
Krista may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. What's included
Enrichment and socialization
Our puppies go through ENS and ESI in the first 2 weeks of life. They are started on basic commands and potty training before they leave here as well. Our puppies are socialized with lots of kids of all ages, other dogs and cats. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Volhard Testing, Name Recognition, Dog door, Obedience training started, Litter Box Trained, Puppy Manners, Puppy Culture , Potty training, crate training, Crate Training, Early Neurological Stimulation, Grooming Desensitization, Socialized with Adult Dogs, Socialized with Cats, Socialized with Children, ENS, Scent Introduction, Noise desensitization, Doggy door training , Human Interactions , Basic manners, Name recognition , Sit Command, "No" Biting or Chewing, and Potty Training.
Puppy health practices
All our puppies are vaccinated and examined by a vet prior to going to their new homes.

We send our puppies home with Sound and texture enrichment, Our puppies are all sent home with welcome home bags and information. , Volhard Personality Test, Toy with Mom's Scent, Toy with Littermates' Scent, Food Starter Bag, Microchipped , Welcome Home bag, Early Neurological Stimulation, Blanket with Littermates' and Mom's scents, Vaccinations, and AKC Registration.
Bringing your puppy home
Krista offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
Pick up your puppy in Star, ID or nearby
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
“We don’t ship our puppies, when puppies are shipped they are put in the cargo area which is very stressful and dangerous. We offer pickup at our home or drop off at Boise airport where you can fly home with your pup in the cabin.”
Get your puppy dropped off to you
Work with a trusted flight nanny or transporter to get your puppy comfortably dropped off at an airport or meeting point close to home.

We started breeding German Shepherds 15 years ago but have really fallen in love the the Golden Retriever breed. They are the total package when it comes to a dog.

About Lucy
Lucy is a sweet, loving and high energy dog. She is more on the petite side only weighing in at 53lbs. Lucy isn’t expected to be ready to enter our breeding program until the summer of 2025 once she completes and passes all necessary testing. Lucy is out of our Sonya/Ruger 2023 litter.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Dentition, Ichthyosis, Golden Retriever Type
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
