I'm Dawn L., the breeder behind GretaLo Dachshunds located in Vancouver, WA. Love of the dachshund breed impassions me to practice evidence-based genetic science at GretaLo with the mission of preventing genetically identifiable causes of disease or disability. GretaLo puppy owners automatically become part of the GretaLo Doxie Pack. Homes are carefully selected.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I love science, the study of genetics and dachshunds. Breeding these adorable mini balls of fluffy love was a logical transition after retirement. My goal is to improve the breed through responsible DNA testing and responsible selective matching of parent dogs.   • What makes your program special?

    All my dogs are my pets. I ❤️ and care for them with their health and happiness being my primary goal. I breed each female 4 times. She is then retired. I average 2 litters a year. You may need to consider getting on the waiting list to bring home a GretaLo dachshund.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include cream, red, brindle, black and cream, chocolate and tan, blue and cream, blue and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Dawn

Dawn has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Dawn partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $3,000 - $3,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes 1 year health guarantee, AKC limited registration, veterinary examination by a licensed DVM, initial vaccinations and deworming, puppy enrichment program, GretaLo Doxie Pack Membership. A $500 deposit/holding fee is non-refundable. The total unpaid balance is due payable to Gooddog before the puppy is picked up. At times special discounts may be offered.”

Contract & health guarantee

Dawn may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
