I'm Deborah S., the breeder behind Imagine Chows located in Marengo, IA. Imagine Chows strives to produce exceptional puppies that are sound in mind & body. Our pups are bred from health tested parents and are exposed to age-appropriate stimulation exercises from the day they're born. They're raised in our home and are potty-trained with basic social skills and obedience training beginning before they leave. All puppies have a guarantee against crippling hip and elbow dysplasia.

Why did you start breeding?
With the breed being the #1 breed diagnosed with crippling elbow dysplasia, and the list of health issues continuing to grow, I realized there was a need for breeders who focus on health, as well as style. Twelve years ago, I joined George and Kathy Beliew of Imagine Chows, with the goal of continuing to produce Chows with sound temperaments and beautiful type.What makes your program special?
Imagine Chows is known worldwide for Chows obtaining the highest titles offered by the national breed club and top rankings in the AKC, and for our commitment to health testing all breeding stock, with the puppies produced having some of the best test results in the US. Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
