Meet the breeder

I'm Diane C., the breeder behind Import German Shepherds of Kansas located in Kansas, Ottawa, KS. My love for the German Shepherd started as a child when my grandfather gave my family a beautiful, well trained black & Silver German Shepherd named Frieda. I have owned and raised German Shepherds for over 50 years and while this world has changed one thing has not, the loyalty of the best breed ever, the German Shepherd.

Q. & A. with Diane

  • Why did you start breeding?

We owned what I tell people "the greatest breed ever, the GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG" every since I was little and never lost the love for them. After we lost our last breeding pair to age I started my search all over again and now instead of children running through my house I now have my 4 legged ones running through my house. My vet asked me where they all stayed my response "in the house".
  • What makes your program special?

We are not a large kennel that's for starters and that will not change. We picked our females and males knowing what we want in a shepherd, healthy (both genetic, and health, hips and elbows, great tempernment, Confidence, Color, intelligent for training in obedience, show.. And in return to be proud of the outcome.... that perfect puppy you take home from us.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include stock and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and tan and black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
