I'm the breeder behind K&L Dachshunds located in Covington, KY. We are huge animal lovers and have a special place in our hearts for our dogs. We want to provide top-quality beloved companions. We cherish each of our dogs and puppies, and we do everything we can to make sure that they get the best lives possible. That includes everything from choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families. Loretta has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Puppy prices range from $700 - $1,500 and include a deposit of $300.
“Price includes 2 sets of vaccinations worming and microchip also clean bill of health from our veterinarian some litters will be AKC registered AKC registration will be given to the buyer when proof of documentation that puppy has been spayed or neutered after year of age AKC form will be mailed to buyer. puppy blanket starter food and the puppies toy included additional fee will be added if health certificate is needed for traveling purposes. Deposit is required to hold your puppy of choice, which shows that the buyers are committed. Only refundable for emergency circumstances. Or if puppy passes away during breeders care. A contract between breeder and buyer will be provided before deposit is made.”

Our puppies are socialized with other dogs and are around children of various ages. Puppies also begin crate and potty training while in our care. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Socialized with other animals, Introduced to people of different ages and appearances, Socialized with other dogs, Daily handling, Socialized with children, Surface & tactile stimulation, Various sounds, Potty training, crate training, Outdoors (when Weather permits), Scents, Strangers, Toys, e.g. Ball, Socialized with Elderly, Household Desensitization, Socialized with Other Animals, Socialized with Adult Dogs, and Socialized with Children.
All puppies are wormed vaccinated and cleared by vet before going to their new homes.
We send our puppies home with Registration, Food & treats, Toys, Vet records, Blanket with mom & littermates’ scent, Microchip, Toy with Littermates' Scent, Food Starter Bag, Certificate of Health, Blanket with Littermates Scent, and Vaccinations.
Loretta offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.

Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
