I'm Laura K., the breeder behind Laurell Golden Retrievers located in Clermont, FL. We offer top-quality Golden Retriever puppies for families who share the same love and passion that we do for these lovely companions! Our dogs are bred for conformation, but many compete in obedience and some in agility and the low-end field. The most important thing is that they have to be a good family pet that is not left outside. We look forward to connecting with you!
Q. & A. with Laura
Why did you start breeding?
After owning dogs that I bought from others, I decided that I wanted to produce puppies using the knowledge that I had gained from watching, reading, and asking around. My first litter was while I was a senior in High School. This litter was the beginning of Laurell and the first two champions I produced. Laurell comes from my first name and my last name - Laura Ellis!
What makes your program special?
My program is special because I breed what I want to. I do not seek out the big winners. I breed what I think will be an asset to the Golden Retriever line. First and foremost, my dogs have to make good pets that are easy to live with and have longevity. I do not advertise, and the majority of my puppies are rehomed to people that I’ve sold to over the years.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
