I'm the breeder behind Lone Star Longhair Dachshunds located in Avinger, TX. Every puppy we raise is adored from birth. They are born with me right there and are handled from the moment they’re born. They are socialized with my 3 kids and my two cats. I do my best to prepare them for life away from here. Day to day noises like kids, cooking, vacuuming and washer and dryers.

Why did you start breeding?
When it was me and my hubbies first Valentine’s Day I got him a dachshund. Then a while later I got myself one because I fell in love with the breed. I made the decision to breed the pair. In the beginning I was not good at all but I realized how much I enjoyed it and wanted to get better. I have been working on my lines for about 7 years now and am really proud of the dogs I have in my program!What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Price
Puppy prices range from $1,200 - $1,800 and include a non-refundable deposit of $250.
“All of my dogs are apri and ckc dual registered. The pricing covers vet checks, wormings, food, spoiling, and anything they might need. They go home with a baggy of food, a toy, a blanket, vet paperwork and some potty pads!”

Melanie’s was amazing! We got our baby Gooby from her and absolutely love him! The whole process from initially inquiring about our puppy to picking him up was easy and stress free!
