I'm Kelly P., the breeder behind Maplewood Mountain Farm located in Danbury, NH. We are the Polizzis, located in scenic New Hampshire, where we raise top-quality AKC Miniature Dachshunds on our family farm. Each of our dogs is cherished as a beloved family member. Our goal is to produce Dachshunds that not only shine in conformation but also reflect the wonderful temperament that makes this breed so special.

  • What makes your program special?

    While it may be easy to simply pair two dogs to produce puppies -as the overcrowding in shelters sadly demonstrates-our mission goes far beyond that. We are dedicated to improving the Dachshund breed as a whole, with health and conformation as the foundation of our program. For this reason, you will not see Isabella-colored puppies, cross-haired mixes, or ‘Labrador look-alikes’ here. We treasure the true beauty of the Dachshund and are committed to preserving everything that makes this breed so special.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include cream, red, chocolate, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Kelly

Kelly has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Kelly partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $3,200 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"Our puppies come with all paperwork which includes their vaccination record/health record, AKC papers, and our one-year health guarantee contract. Additionally, we offer a puppy care package for your new furry companion. Deposits will be accepted once the litter has arrived. The remaining balance is to be paid at 8 weeks old."

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     It was so wonderful working with Kelly! I had been thinking about getting a dachshund (our last passed in 2019) for a few years, but every time I looked around I didn't find any breeder pages that felt right to me. I was very happy to find Maplewood Mountain Farm. I was delighted to see that Kelly raised her puppies in her home and surrounded by her children and treated them as a part of her family - exactly what I was looking for. She is clearly very knowledgable about dachshunds and her standards for breeding are very high. Kelly was very communicative during the entire process and promptly answered any questions I had via email or FB Messenger. (I had A LOT and she was always so sweet!) She is a delight to chat with. Kelly took VERY beautiful pictures and videos of the puppies each week that we were always so excited to see. My kids were so excited to look at them every time she uploaded new ones. We picked up our Ziggy from Kelly's very beautiful farm. We cannot believe how well-behaved this puppy is! He is incredibly calm and affectionate, a breeze to potty train, and so quiet that we hardly hear a peep from him! Even amidst the chaos of loud kids running around the house, he cheerfully follows them, wagging his tail wherever he goes. We are absolutely in love and thrilled with our decision to choose Kelly.
