I'm Katie S., the breeder behind Moon Dream Cavaliers located in Kewaskum, WI. We breed for conformation and health. Our goal is to give you a healthy, happy and socialized companion.   • Why did you start breeding?

    After years of research, finding our first females, and completing health testing, we found a mentor to guide us, support us and provide stud services. We chose to commit to our goals of producing healthy puppies, then raise them according to Puppy Culture guidelines. We chose to breed for our love of Cavaliers and our dedication to maintaining the health of this special breed.

  • What makes your program special?

    My breeding program is small and family-oriented. Our main desire is to breed healthy dogs that follow AKC standards. Our breeding dogs are our family pets.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include blenheim, ruby, tri-color, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Katie

Katie has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $500 deposit and between $2,400 - $3,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Brucellosis

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Full Embark Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Katie and Moon Dream Cavaliers were absolutely amazing from our first inquiry all the way to pickup day. My fiancé and I were searching for a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and came across Katie’s page on GoodDog. From my very first message, Katie responded quickly, was incredibly informative, and answered all of my questions thoroughly. We live in CT, and she even offered to help us figure out travel—going as far as looking up flights to make the process easier for us. Once we decided to move forward and placed our deposit, Katie provided frequent updates. She even asked what we were planning to name our puppy so she could start calling her by name, which was such a thoughtful touch. Katie hand-knit sweaters and a blanket for her, even asking what colors we liked—something that made the experience feel so personal and showed how much she truly cares about every dog. Throughout the entire process, we received so many photos, videos, and updates as our puppy grew. When we picked up Annie at around 13 weeks, she came home with an incredible “starter kit” filled with toys, outfits, chews, and supplies. Katie also made us feel so comfortable about flying with a puppy for the first time. She reassured us every step of the way, and Annie did great on her flight thanks to Katie’s guidance. The entire process was seamless because of her support. Now that Annie is home, she is settling in wonderfully. She came to us already potty trained, crate trained, and even knowing some basic commands, which we are so grateful for. I cannot recommend Katie and Moon Dream Cavaliers enough to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and knowledgeable breeder. We would absolutely make the long travel day again in a heartbeat to get another Cavalier from her!

    Words can’t truly describe how incredible our experience was with Katie as our breeder. My fiancé and I were so excited but also nervous to get our first puppy, especially a Cavalier, and knowing how many health issues the breed can have, it was incredibly important to us to find a breeder we could fully trust and who was completely transparent. From the very beginning, Katie went above and beyond. She immediately shared all of the health paperwork for our puppy’s parents, and from the moment we put a deposit down to pickup day, she sent daily updates, photos, videos, and milestone check ins that made us feel confident and involved every step of the way. On pickup day, Katie had every vaccination and health record perfectly organized in a packet, and seeing the clean, comfortable, and loving environment the puppies are raised in gave us total peace of mind. She even asked what we planned to name Ellie so she could start calling her by name, began crate training, and uses turf squares indoors to help with potty training. Because of all the care and effort Katie puts into raising her dogs, Ellie has not cried once in her crate since night one and has had barely any accidents in the house. It genuinely feels like we brought home a pre trained puppy. I cannot recommend Moon Dream Cavaliers enough if you are looking for a Cavalier and want to work with a breeder who truly does things the right way. We are beyond happy with our puppy and so grateful for our entire experience with Katie.

    Katie was the best breeder I could ever hope for. She is very loving to the mom and her litter. Once Frankie was born she makes sure the puppies are socialized and she sends pics of each stage they are going through in their development. Katie always answered my questions and provided information and support. The puppy we brought home was confident and settled right in to our house! Frankie, our puppy, had an hour ride home and she was so good at settling down. All that Frankie is in terms of a cuddler an alert, bright dog are due to the loving care Katie gave to here during her very formative months.

    We have had 2 Cavaliers in the past. Each time we had to drive out of state to pick them up. It was so nice to have a breeder so close to West Bend. Katie was open to us coming to see Luke so we actually had the opportunity to watch him grow in person. It was also nice to see the environment in which he was being raised. Katie has numerous Cavaliers, who she calls "The Bigs". Luke had a lot of socialization with the dogs and other people and different situations. Katie kept in contact with us throughout the entire process sending updated photos and answering our questions. We plan on using Kaci's Bark at the Moon in West Bend for Luke's grooming needs. This entire process was a very pleasant experience. Good Dog was easy to use and we would recommend the service. Thanks, Katie for bringing a lot of love into our house.

    Katie is an amazing breeder and an amazing person. The whole process from beginning to end could not have gone any better. Katie’s business raised puppies that were always clean and healthy, and she granted us access to them prior to taking our puppy Zoey full time. She constantly shared photos of Zoey as the early weeks passed by. She responded to every text and email more promptly than any other business of any type I have ever dealt with. She imparted great amounts of knowledge about our new puppy, recommended great local vets, and followed up with us even after we took Zoey home. I don’t know if we’ll ever get a new puppy again, but if we were to get one, Katie would be our first stop. I recommend her completely. 10 out of 10 stars.
