I'm Ricky & Judy R., the breeder behind Mountain Ridge Basset Hounds located in Middle Ga 1.5 Hrs From Atlanta, GA. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. We care so much about each of our dogs and make sure to find our puppies the perfect families and individuals with lifestyles that will complement this amazing breed.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I love Basset Hound puppies and love being with them. So I decided the only way to keep puppies around was to raise them. It was hard at first because I feel so responsible for their innocence. I have to make sure they go to loving and kind homes. I have been doing this 15 plus years and I have met some of the most precious Basset Hound lovers. I always say once a Basset Hound owner always a Basset Hound owner. You cannot hold a Basset Hound puppy without it warming your heart and putting a big smile on your face.

    I just Love the breed and I love my clients and their love for my sweet adorable puppies.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Ricky & Judy

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Ricky & Judy partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $1,750 - $1,950 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Without breeding rights $2,000 with Breeding rights $2,200. Deposits place a hold on your puppy until they are 8 weeks full payment is due one day before pickup.”

Contract & health guarantee

Ricky & Judy may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Thrombopathia, Basset Hound Type

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
