I'm Amanda J., the breeder behind Simply Southern Shihtzus located in Hawthorne, FL. We breed high-quality puppies. We love what we do and are committed to producing well-bred, healthy puppies for loving homes. We give our dogs the best lives possible. We are looking for families and individuals that will provide our puppies with the same level of love and care. I sell to pet homes only.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I got into breeding on accident after moving to Florida. My first friend I made here was a Shih tzu breeder and I learned the ropes from her and went from there. I adore the breed and couldn’t imagine life without one.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our babies are raised in our home with individual attention love and care.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include sable, black, black gold and white, blue and white, liver and white, black and white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Amanda

Amanda has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Amanda partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and $1,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"Price includes health certificate shots and dewormed, and microchip sold to pet homes only with no registration included. All of our puppies are the same price regardless of color or size. Deposit is non refundable so please be sure before reserving."

    I absolutely loved Amanda! I brought home baby "Simon"who is now JoJo. He is incredibly smart! At 10 weeks old, he already knows his name. He's also going to the bathroom outside, with a few accidents here and there, of course. Amanda absolutely has raised these babies in a loving home! When I met her, i instantly knew she was a great person! She sent me videos before I picked JoJo up. I found her to be a very upfront and honest breeder, and I will absolutely be purchasing another baby from her! Jojo was a christmas present for my husband and they both instantly fell in Love!

    After the passing away of my Little Buddy Andy of 18 years last year was heart broken and not sure how to find a trustworthy breeder was fortunate to find the Good Dog Site and after reading about Amanda and her Bio was motivated to contact her and find out more about Simply Southern Shih Tzu’s felt comfortable to move forward. Amanda was patient and answered all my questions and kept in contact with me about the upcoming litter that “Blakely” now Georgie was part of. Now it has been two weeks of picking up my little Furry Georgie, he is bright smart funny and super energetic bundle of joy. Love the Sound of paws on the wood floor again that were missed.     If you are considering a puppy from Amanda, don't hesitate! My husband and I found our little Buddy (previously Tootsie Roll) on Good Dog back in August and fell in love immediately. After reaching out, Amanda quickly contacted us and even did a video call so we could see him. It was obvious that Amanda is a knowledgeable and responsibility breeder who raises her puppies with love. It's been 6 months since we brought our Buddy home, and I can't see enough wonderful things about him. He is absolutely beautiful and has the cutest expressions. Buddy is the sweetest little boy who loves to be held and coddled when he is not playing with one of his many toys. Buddy has brought so much joy and love into our lives, and we can't imagine life without him.

    Getting a puppy was something I dreamed about and Amanda made the process SO EASY!! And my little luffy is literally the sweetest..smartest.. CUTEST boy!! I actually selected one of his brothers first but I'm our FaceTime i asked to see another puppy I was interested in and it was love at first sight!!! We now want to get him a little sister and will DEFINITELY use Amanda again!!!
