I'm Nalini S., the breeder behind SugarBellsMaltese located in Albuquerque, NM. I am a small hobby breeder in New Mexico. I usually have puppies available twice a year. I am committed to producing healthy, well bred puppies to be you loving & loyal companion for 15+ yrs. All health tests available to view. I do not inbreed my dogs.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I fell in love with our own Maltese. I can think of nothing better than to spread this love around.

  • What makes your program special?

    I HEALTH TEST all my dogs for the recommended issues for Maltese annually. I don't inbreed my dogs. I expose my litters to a variety of things and have plenty of play time to keep them busy. They are tuft trained & familiar with crates. They are groomed, weekly. All puppies are held and loved daily. SugarBells Maltese are something special. Just ask any new owner. References available.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Nalini

Nalini has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $4,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“1st (possibly 2nd) vaccination, deworming, turf training, grooming, toenails clipped, and familiarized with crates. Gift bag with purchase. I ask for a non refundable $500 holding fee to secure your place in line to select your puppy. Transferrable under certain circumstances. You then have a 12 month "use it or lose it" expiration.”

Contract & health guarantee

Nalini may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    If you are looking for a reputable breeder who truly loves her babies and will provide you with a healthy, turf trained, well rounded, socialized pup this is the right place! She has continuous videos of the puppies and you can see all the toys and stimulation they receive to make them secure, confident dogs. She is invested in their health and well being and is supportive of their forever families with any questions or concerns. The puppies are : AKC DNA Profile Tested Health tested Microchipped Dewormed Vaccinated Veterinary Checkup Performed They come with a sweet puppy starter kit tailored for you and your new baby! She is a bred with H.E.A.R.T. Member of AKC & registered puppies. Turf trained has made this puppy transition so nice!! If you have ever owned a dog you will know the difference in one of her pups and how well rounded they are! If it's your first time you are in for a beautiful journey! I did my research and feel incredibly blessed to have one of her babies!

    The whole experience of getting a fur baby from Sugar Bells was wonderful. After almost being scammed by others numerous times, I was leery. I could tell from my first conversation with Nalini that she was a kind human who really cared about her pups and who received them. I was comfortable every step of the way as she shared pictures, videos and Maltese tips with me throughout our whole process. She also put me in touch with a flight nanny who delivered my sweet pup to me. Jovi (my boy) has a calm and sweet nature. He’s learning commands and is happy to please. He’s adventurous and happy every day. And he’s an amazing cuddler! He fit in immediately with our other pup and they are best friends, partners in crime and cuddlebugs. Our vet said he is a beautiful and healthy dog. I have given Nalini’s name to a friend who will be getting their next pup from her. I have also shared her info on social media to people who have been scammed and have lost thousands in their search for a fur baby. Nalini is the real deal. We are still in touch, as she checks in and answers any questions I may have about this breed. I am so grateful to have found Nalini and her pups!
