I have talked with someone you about puppy food. I feed and recommend the ProPlan large breed chicken flavor formula. It is formulated to help larger, fast growing dogs like Goldens grow at a slower rate than other formulas. They are at a higher rate of joint and hip problems when they grow to fast. It's important to feed according to the table on the back of the bag. In this case, the females should be approximately 60 lbs full grown so they should eat about 1-1/2 cups split into 3 meals at 8 weeks when they leave here and males will be between 75 and 100 lbs at maturity so they will be eating about 2 cups split into 3 meals and adjusted as the get older. If you decide to ween them off of this food, give the puppy about 2 weeks to adjust to her new home, then ween them off slowly by mixing the two foods and follow the quantity per day directions on the bag that you decide to feed. Many Goldens are gobblers, feed mats can help them eat slower. Carrots, blueberries and apples (peeled & seeded) make great snacks in between and are great for training treats so they don't get too many calories a day. It's also important to talk to your vet if you decide to switch to gluten-free foods. Goldens are at a higher risk of heart disease (DCM) from ingredients in some grain free foods. This is what has been reccomended and works for me. Always consult a vet you trust if you have any questions or concerns about which food is best for your Golden.

Everyone loved their bath today! They snuggled up to Callie afterwards to get warm then took a long nap. Individual photos will have to wait until tomorrow. Grace had to come in and check after Callie left to make sure they were all ok. She mothers them every chance she gets.

We haven’t picked up our puppy yet. Tom and Lisa have been kind and super responsive to all my questions. We are very pleased with them!
