I'm the breeder behind The Clumsy Kentucky Bassets located in Nicholasville, KY. My love for bassets came in 2020, when purchasing my first purebred lemon basset. I saw how many people came up to me and told me their stories about their family basset and how much joy it brought them, and knew I wanted to be more involved. All puppies are around children and will be well socialized and kept indoors.
About Janelle
Hi! I'm Janelle, 30. I work from home as a full time mom, full time broker, and seasonal Basset breeder. When breeding season is over, I enjoy taking my bassets on hikes, dog parks, and creeks. You'd be surprised how much they love the water!! I have assisted in multiple basset births besides my own and am under the wing of a 10 year old basset breeder and Vets.
What makes Janelle’s program special
My adults and their litter receive a LOT of attention. Since I work from home, I'm capable of making sure their health is in check. I have kids, so they are around children a lot and will be well socialized. I also do not let funding get in the way of immediate vet care if needed. Its important for me and my dam, that all pups are well taken care of- what ever it takes.

Why Janelle started breeding
My love for bassets came in 2020, when purchasing my first purebred lemon basset hound. Many strangers came up to me and told me their stories about their passing family basset and how much joy it brought them, and was just so happy to see a basset again. Seeing the love for my personal buddy and all the pets they got, I began breeding out of my home.
