I'm the breeder behind American K-9 Kennel located in Pueblo West, CO. I am a small hobby breeder of carefully selected German Shepherds. My goal to better the breed and those that love them. I hand-raise all of my dogs with love in my home. I have high expectations for my puppies and make sure to place each one with an enriching and loving family complementary to their personality and ability!
About Sarah
I am a busy mom of 3. We love all of our companions and cherish them as family members. I can't imagine spending life without them. I am dedicated towards achieving excellence and healthy family pets, and I am always working to further my education so that I can continue to improve my breeding program as well as share my knowledge with others!
What makes Sarah’s program special
We let families interact with their pups before go home to make sure they chose the correct temperament for their specific needs. While I know that not every pup in each litter will grow up to become a service dog, I am confident that each one will become a treasured family member!
Sarah has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Please contact the breeder to get more information about pricing.
Sarah may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Sarah offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Sarah directly.
I do all that I can to expose my puppies to new experiences, smells, and noises during crucial development periods. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Socialized with Adult Dogs, Socialized with Children, Socialized with Other Animals, Household Desensitization, Sound Stimulation, Various Surfaces, House Training, Crate Training, and Biosensor Training.
I prioritize the health and well-being of each one of my puppies, and I follow all appropriate puppy health protocols.
Your puppy may come with extra benefits, like a small bag of food or a toy carrying the scent of their littermates. While American K-9 Kennel hasn’t shared specifics yet, we encourage you to reach out directly to learn what thoughtful extras they may include to help your puppy transition comfortably into their new home.
Sarah offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
“I prefer to have families and individuals pick up locally. It's important to me that I'm able to form connections with my puppies' parents.”
