I'm the breeder behind Bad Wolf Irish Wolfhounds located in Verona, KY. I am centered on the breed standard, pedigree research, health screening, and puppy socialization to preserve the future of the breed. I do everything I can to give these dogs the best chance in life they can get. I want my puppies to live long happy lives with the perfect families.
About Amanda
I've been a Veterinary Technician for 22 years, and have owned Irish Wolfhounds for 18. We've been involved in conformation shows for 7 years, and have been breeding for 4. Our two children have grown up alongside the Wolfhounds. The bond is wonderful to watch year after year. The hounds also live with 2 Bengal cats. We live on an acreage in Northern Kentucky, surrounded by trees and wildlife.
What makes Amanda’s program special
Our hounds are our family. They are also bred to fit the breed standard in both form and function. Health and temperament are top priority alongside conformation.

Amanda may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Amanda offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Amanda directly.
Aside from living in a busy home with two children (7 and 12), other adult dogs, and two cats, we also are proud to use the Puppy Culture early socialization program. We try to expose our puppies to as many new people and experiences as possible. As a Vet Tech, I also make a point to bring pups to work with me when appropriate to get them used to exams, nail trims, and the general environment. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Household Desensitization, Socialized with Children, and Puppy Culture .
As a Veterinary Technician, my puppies have constant care from day one. They receive age-appropriate vaccinations, as well as deworming. All puppies are tested for Liver Shunt at 9-10 weeks old. Puppies get their first heartworm treatment here and go home with their next dose.
Your puppy may come with extra benefits, like a small bag of food or a toy carrying the scent of their littermates. While Bad Wolf Irish Wolfhounds hasn’t shared specifics yet, we encourage you to reach out directly to learn what thoughtful extras they may include to help your puppy transition comfortably into their new home.
Amanda offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
Work with a trusted transporter to get your puppy comfortably dropped off at a meeting point close to home.
Why Amanda started breeding
After many years of owning Wolfhounds, I saw many prestigious breeders retiring, and lovely healthy lines retired along with them. I saw an opportunity to help preserve the true Irish Wolfhound-through extensive pedigree research, health testing, and selective breeding. I've been fortunate to have many wonderful mentors that assist me along the way.
