I'm the breeder behind CharLaDan located in Culpeper, VA. We are responsible breeders who are passionate about our dogs. They’re central to our lives, and we are proud of their accomplishments. We enjoy participating in conformation events and staying involved in the breed.
Charles’s experience
About Charles
I'm a retired LtCol of Marines and have had dogs my entire life. For a while I did Obedience Trails and eventually started doing Confirmation shows with Irish Terriers. My children did Junior Showmanship at that time. We transitioned to Wire Fox Terriers about 10 years ago and have been more involved in showing since then.
What makes Charles’s program special
With a lot of support we have improved our show dogs each generation. (95% of the time we are handling and conditioning our own dogs.

Getting a puppy from Charles
Charles has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices range from $2,500 - $3,000.
“The price includes a well socialized, vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and healthy puppy with a Full Registration. Our adult dogs are DNA tested and bred to be free of known Wire Fox Terrier health issues.”

Charles may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. What's included
Enrichment and socialization
Our puppies are socialized with children starting when eyes are opening. They also get a couple rides in the car. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Socialized with children, Surface & tactile stimulation, Various sounds, Socialized with other dogs, Car rides, and Potty Training.
Puppy health practices
Our puppies have at least two vaccinations plus veterinary exam.
Extras
We send our puppies home with Registration, Microchip, Vet records, and Food & treats.
Bringing your puppy home
Charles offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
Pick up your puppy in Culpeper, VA or nearby
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.

Why Charles started breeding
We were fortunate enough to start with a healthy dog with a great pedigree and an outstanding temperament. We started breeding to try and improve the dogs we could show.

Charles’s Wire Fox Terrier puppies are white black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
