I'm the breeder behind DCAN's German Shepherds located in Raleigh, NC. I am a small hobby breeder and usually have one or two litters a year. Through the years I have bred several AKC Champions, some titled obedience dogs, and many, many happy beloved pets.
About Deeda
I have been in love with the German Shepherd Dog ever since I can remember. As a child I though German Shepherds were the most beautiful creatures God ever created. I was from a cat family and never owned a dog as a child, so when I got the chance and opportunity I certainly made up for it. Then, when I learned about dog shows, I was totally hooked! To see these magnificent dogs in the ring, standing and charging around was a thrill for me beyond comparison. It was to become my passion and my hobby.
What makes Deeda’s program special
The bloodlines I use are 100% American lines. They are usually black & tan, large boned, plush coated pups. The parents are always OFA certified and sound in every way. I offer a one year written guarantee and free advice for the life of the dog. I do screen my buyers and often ask for references. Pups are reasonably priced and I do accept deposits, but only after the female is confirmed pregnant.

Deeda may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Deeda offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Deeda directly.
Our puppies are raised in the home until 6 weeks at which point they're moved outdoors. They are used to household sights and sounds as well as children. Once outside, they are in an indoor/outdoor kennel that's heated and cooled.
All puppies are vaccinated, dewormed, and seen by a licensed veterinarian before going to their new homes.
Your puppy may come with extra benefits, like a small bag of food or a toy carrying the scent of their littermates. While DCAN's German Shepherds hasn’t shared specifics yet, we encourage you to reach out directly to learn what thoughtful extras they may include to help your puppy transition comfortably into their new home.
Deeda offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
