Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Desert Star Yorkshire Terriers LLC located in Killeen, TX. We’re a small-scale program with a big love of this breed! Our dogs are our passion, and our goal in breeding is to make sure all of our puppies have a home and loving family for the entirety of their life. We put a lot of time, care and love into them from the moment they're born. We cherish each of our dogs and puppies and we do everything we can to make sure they have the best lives possible. That includes everything from choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families.

Maryah’s experience

  • About Maryah

Hi there! My name is Maryah and my husband, Malik and I own Desert Star Yorkshire Terriers LLC. Our dogs, Koko and Kash started Desert Star as the first sire and dam to our litters several years ago. I've been breeding Yorkshire Terriers for a little over 7 years but have owned and loved the breed since I was 8 years old! Before I started breeding Yorkies, I made sure to educate myself as much as possible on the breed and responsible/ethical breeding! We are a military family and I am a nurse turned stay at home mom. Everywhere we have been, our dogs have always made an unfamiliar place feel like home and we want to give that same love and joy to other families! We give our puppies all of the attention and love until they go off to their forever home.
