I'm the breeder behind Effingham Retrievers located in Timmonsville, SC. We raise our dogs with love in our home. We have high expectations for our pups and strive to put each one into a loving family. Our focus is on breeding healthy and happy puppies that can bring just as much joy to their families as our dogs do for us. We are human, we are not perfect but we try to find the perfect homes for our babies. We are very hands-on with our puppies from birth until they leave to their forever homes and give them plenty of unconditional love and attention! Before going to their forever homes babies are introduced to all different kinds of animals as in other dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, pigs, donkey, and even goats incase they are placed with these scenarios in their new homes. We have bred labs since 2018 and every year we strive to do better than the last and improve. We still keep in touch with babies from our last litter all the way back to our very first litter. If you decide to get a puppy from us, you will not regret it and will always be apart of the Effingham Retriever family 🤍.
About Brooke
My name is Brooke Jenkins. Formally known as Brooke Tindal, I married my husband December 2021 and have owned Effingham Retrievers since 2018. Ever since I was little I knew I loved animals. I always wanted to be a veterinarian until I was old enough to realize I would have to send animals to the rainbow bridge, and that’s when I realized I just couldn’t do that.
What makes Brooke’s program special
We raise our dogs with love in our home. We are still in contact with owners from our first first litter we ever had. Once you get a baby from us you are always family to us.

Why Brooke started breeding
I got into breeding because back in 2017 I was playing college softball and my female Bella, broke her femur and the vets gave me the option to do the surgery, amputate her leg, or put her down. At the time she was 10 weeks old and I knew her life was just starting and it was not fair for her to be punished for an accident. I decided to hang my cleats and pay for her to have a surgery. My vet was blown away with her fox red coloring, as he had never seen one and mentioned breeding her to pay for the surgery. We agreed with the help of our vet, and bred our girl. And since then we have added babies to our programs, and Bella has been retired.
