I'm the breeder behind Elysian Border Collies, LLC. located in Rolla, MO. We strive for high-quality puppies and value intelligence, agility, instinct, and health. Health tests and nutrition are a must.
About Amelia
I’ve had a crush on the Border Collie breed for as long as I can remember. I got my first Border Collie right out of high school and that was it, I'm hooked. Now I have three that I love and treat like family (one is on my feet as I type this). Border Collies, dog agility, and training is my passion.
What makes Amelia’s program special
Firstly, I’m not a high volume kennel. I plan to breed one litter per year and have partnered with a reputable breeder to carefully select the traits I want to see passed on to puppies. I do DNA complete health checks on all dams and sires. I socialize, do ENS, and clicker train puppies before they go. They start with a strong foundation to become excellent, quick-learning, well-rounded puppies.

Puppies begin early neurological stimulation for the first three weeks of life. Our puppies listen to agility trial sounds on CD. We begin our early training by building the confidence of our puppies through play; we introduce a variety of toys and encourage a toy drive. We use preliminary behavioral shaping methods with clicker training to help puppies learn to problem solve and become analytical thinkers. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Handled daily, Exposure to Agility Tunnel and Wobble Board, Exposure to livestock, Crate Training , Outdoors (when Weather permits), Noises , Touch Desensitization, Household Desensitization, Clicker Training, Crate Training, Sit Command, Early Neurological Stimulation, Socialized with Cats, Socialized with Children, Socialized with Adult Dogs, Socialized with Other Animals, Sound Stimulation, Grooming Desensitization, Strangers, Toys, e.g. Ball, Various Surfaces , Chew, e.g. Bone, Noise desensitized , crate training, car riding , Outdoors, e.g. rain, Pee pad, Name recognition , Human Interactions , Puppy Manners, and Behavioral shaping .
Puppies receive evaluations, worming and vaccinations from our local licensed veterinarian at both 6 and 8 weeks of age. They also receive a heath certificate before going home. Puppies are fed a holistic diet from Wellness pet food and are exercised daily.

Why Amelia started breeding
I grew up in a household very well versed in showing and raising quality pets. My mom and my grandma before her raised Himalayans, Akitas, and Dobermans. I’ve always been an animal lover and fascinated with watching how breeds improve, how their traits are passed down and puppies are reminiscent of their parents. I raise Border Collies because it allows me to sustain my obsession while bringing families their next best friend. Nothing is more gratifying than witnessing that first embrace families have with their new family addition. And of course, the joy of watching the Elysian legacy grow up with their new families. I hope you do big things!
