I'm the breeder behind Emerald Coast Yorkies located in Defuniak Springs, FL. We are a small home-based breeder with high quality dogs that are also highly socialized. Our breeding dogs are part of our family. Our puppies are born and raised in our home. With high quality champion bloodlines, our gorgeous puppies mature in the 4 - 5 pound range. They are highly socialized and ready to become a loving part of your family.
About Robert
My wife and I are just average people who love dogs. My wife loves to help deliver the puppies, and I'm addicted to puppy breath.
What makes Robert’s program special
Our breeding program is different from many in that we are a very small operation with only two breeding females and one male. The entire operation is inside our home and the dogs are a part of my family.
Robert has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Puppy prices range from $3,000 - $4,000 and include a refundable deposit of $250.
“The price includes a health guarantee, AKC registration, and first round of vaccinations. The deposit is required to maintain a buyer's position on our waiting list. It is refundable if the buyer wishes to remove themselves from the list. The deposit becomes non-refundable when the buyer chooses a puppy.”
Robert may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Robert offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Robert directly.
Our puppies are raised as part of our family. They are exposed to our grandchildren (supervised, of course) and other adult friends and family. When they are old enough they play outside daily. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Introduced to people of different ages and appearances, Socialized with other dogs, Daily handling, Socialized with children, Beginning Grooming, outside play, Potty Pad Training, and Human Interactions .
All of our puppies are up to date on their vaccinations and vet visits. The required health certificate is provided.
Your puppy may come with extra benefits, like a small bag of food or a toy carrying the scent of their littermates. While Emerald Coast Yorkies hasn’t shared specifics yet, we encourage you to reach out directly to learn what thoughtful extras they may include to help your puppy transition comfortably into their new home.
Robert offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
Why Robert started breeding
Over thirty years ago, we got our first Yorkie as a pet. We fell in love with the breed. Our next puppy was a female, and we decided to breed with a friend's dog, kind of on a whim. We enjoyed the process so much that we purchased a male dog to breed with. Over the years we have improved the quality of our breeding dogs over the past 25 years.
Robert has been a member of Good Dog for less than a month
