I'm the breeder behind Goodwin Heritage Homestead located in Georgia. Our goal is to produce pups of sound mind and body with great dispositions able to transition well from the farm to home life. We adore English Shepherds. Our dogs have enriched our lives in ways we never imagined, and we are so happy to be able to share the wonderful qualities of the breed with others. Owning an English Shepherd is a beautiful experience, and it would be our honor to connect you with the perfect new addition to your family.
About Emily
We are a homeschooling, homesteading family that live on 5 acres in Northeast Georgia. Our dogs are important members of our family and homestead. We couldn't do what we do without them.
What makes Emily’s program special
Our dogs are working farm dogs. Our puppies need to be placed on farms or homesteads or a place where they can have a job. We do not place our puppies until after a formal evaluation at 7 weeks old. We then place based on temperament and NOT on gender or appearance. We want your puppy to be your lifelong friend and helper.

Emily has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Puppy prices range from $700 - $900 and include a deposit of $200.
“Every puppy will come with ESC and/or UKC registration papers (your preference) and genetic testing. A $200 deposit will hold your puppy. After evaluations puppies will be placed on temperament in order of deposits paid. If a puppy cannot be placed to your satisfaction your deposit will be refunded.”
Emily may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Emily offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Emily directly.
We use Puppy Culture when raising our puppies in addition to English Shepherd training recommended by the ESC for working dogs. Puppies will be socialized and introduced to livestock.
All puppies will be genetically tested, wormed, have their first vaccinations, and vet visit.
Your puppy may come with extra benefits, like a small bag of food or a toy carrying the scent of their littermates. While Goodwin Heritage Homestead hasn’t shared specifics yet, we encourage you to reach out directly to learn what thoughtful extras they may include to help your puppy transition comfortably into their new home.
Emily offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
“We are happy to help workout transportation logistics with families however costs will be your responsibility. We live an hour from Atlanta (not including traffic) and 80 minutes from Greenville, SC.”
Why Emily started breeding
We have always had dogs, but we never considered breeding until we got an English Shepherd. Ranger changed everything for us. He helps us guard and protect our property and livestock, he makes chores easier, and he is our children's best friend. We had never met such an amazing dog or breed. We knew we had to share this amazing dog with others.
Emily has been a member of Good Dog for about 3 years
Emily was screened for responsible practices and has been a member since 2022.
