I'm the breeder behind MD Dogs Inc located in Lexington, KY. Our purpose in breeding is to produce medical alert dogs who have the drive to alert among any distraction, the confidence to thrive in any environment, and the biddability to be trained by any aged handler. All puppies receive neonatal imprinting to jumpstart their alerting and maximize accuracy.

What makes Libby’s program special
All our puppies are raised with the intent of becoming Service Dogs, so even our pets have a phenomenal start to life. Our dam is a fully trained Diabetic Alert Dog and all puppies receive our Neonatal Scent Imprinting from just 24 hours old until they go home. By the time they go home, the dogs are showing clear recognition of low blood sugar odors when around type 1 diabetics.

Our puppies are "Started Diabetic Alert Dogs". Raised in my home according with ENS and Puppy Culture. Most importantly, they receive Neonatal Scent Imprinting (NSI), which classically conditions them each day to the odor of low blood sugar. They also receive socialization and training so their Diabetic Alert training is jumpstarted and they naturally respond to low BG as soon as they go home. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Noises , Socialized with Children, Strangers, Various Surfaces , Stores, Structures, e.g. Climbing, Scents, Chew, e.g. Bone, Toys, e.g. Ball, Touch Desensitization, Early Neurological Stimulation, Household Desensitization, Sound Stimulation, Socialized with Cats, Socialized with Other Animals, Socialized with Adult Dogs, "No" Biting or Chewing, Obedience training started, Puppy Culture , Sit Command, Biosensor Training, Service Dog Training, Crate Training, and Potty Training.
All puppies receive vaccinations, deworming, DNA tests, bile acid testing, and a health certificate.
We send our puppies home with Microchip, Registration, Initial potty training, and Vet records.
Libby offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
Work with a trusted flight nanny to get your puppy comfortably dropped off at an airport or meeting point close to home.
Why Libby started breeding
Our mission is to produce future Diabetic Alert Dogs, and we have found one way to do this is to breed confident, health tested, driven dogs and imprint the litters from birth to give families who are training their own Diabetic Alert Dog a leg up and set them up for success as much as possible.
Libby has been a member of Good Dog for about 1 year
Libby was screened for responsible practices and has been a member since 2024.
