I'm the breeder behind Middleton Akitas located in Mt Washington, KY. We are American Akita owners and lovers of the breed, trying to group the Akita breed in the great state of Kentucky! We breed for health and temperament, and we aim to produce puppies that are gentle, playful, and good listeners. It is our pleasure to help you take the next step in adding this wonderful new addition to your family!
About Telah
We are a selective program that focuses on temperament and the overall well-being of our dogs. We breed to produce happy and healthy puppies that can continue to excel in their forever homes.
What makes Telah’s program special
We love each puppy as our own, and we vet each person to make sure they know about the breed and will take care of the puppy. We are passionate about Akitas, and our love for these dogs shines through in every aspect of our breeding program.

Telah has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Puppy prices range from $800 - $1,500.
“This price includes the first vaccine and vet visit and AKC registration. $1500 includes breeding rights, or $1000 includes spay contract. ”
Telah may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Telah offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Telah directly.
We have our puppies trained to potty outside and come when called. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Basic Manners, Initial House Training, Various Surfaces, Noise Desensitization, Household Desensitization, and Socialized with People.
We make sure each puppy is healthy prior to leaving our care, and we follow all of our vet’s recommendations on puppy health.
Your puppy may come with extra benefits, like a small bag of food or a toy carrying the scent of their littermates. While Middleton Akitas hasn’t shared specifics yet, we encourage you to reach out directly to learn what thoughtful extras they may include to help your puppy transition comfortably into their new home.
Telah offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
“Must meet locally.”
Why Telah started breeding
We have a great 10-year-old American Akita, and we wanted to continue his linage! We purchased a female whose sire was from Big Bear Akita and knew these two would provide beautiful puppies. We were right!
Telah has been a member of Good Dog for almost 4 years
Telah was screened for responsible practices and has been a member since 2021.
Telah’s program includes one color
Telah’s Akita puppies are silver, black overlay. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
