Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Misty Hill Chesapeakes located in Brooksville, FL. Misty Hill does not breed often. I do all the required health testing on my dogs, and any litter will be from proven/level-headed dogs. Whether your goal is a competition or not, I hope to get my puppies in homes where they get the attention they deserve and provide the companionship we all need.

M. Stacey’s experience

  • About M. Stacey

I grew up in a “dog” family with my dad being an upland hunter, and I showed with my mom. We had setters and vizslas. I married a duck hunter (add Chesapeakes), and I had no idea how fun a “go down and get it, bring it back dog” could be. I have been lucky to have many top competition dogs; however, my dogs will always be my companions first, and competition dogs second.

  • What makes M. Stacey’s program special

My program is a passion 1st. Ultimately the goal is long-lived, healthy, stable companion dogs. If that goal is met, those dogs can do all the other things we ask of our dog companions, whether it be show, field, therapy, tracking, hanging out with the family, or any other activity we ask of our dog companions. The human/animal bond is what I hope all my puppies can be a part of.

More about M. Stacey

  • Why M. Stacey started breeding

I only breed when I am looking to add a dog, and my goal is to build a better dog. I also live with my dogs, so I know not only the conformation but temperament. Fads and marketing of dogs (purebred and non) now often displace quality, health, and deviation from the breed standards. I hope to use my lifetime of dog and professional experience to build good Chesapeake Bay Retrievers.
