I'm the breeder behind Mountain View Schnauzers located in Kalama, WA. We are a small in-home breeder of AKC registered Miniature Schnauzers. We Embark DNA test parents to assuring we are offering healthy pups free of genetic defects that Embark test for. Pups are raised in our home, well socialized. We are proud supporters of dedicated and responsible breeders.
About Kathleen
We are located in SW Washington and are dedicated to finding the right home for each of our puppies. Before sending a dog home, we must discuss your household and schedule to see how well you would fit with a Miniature Schnauzer.
What makes Kathleen’s program special
We care a great deal about all of our dogs and puppies. Our dogs are part of our family. They live with us and sit on our laps and at bedtime most of them find a way onto one of our beds or in our bedrooms. We always have our grandkids and friends over to play with our puppies. I take great care to research pedigrees and genetics to assure we are breading healthy dogs with no inbreeding. I am there to assist delivery with each pup born. Another MAJOR feature of our breeding program is that we do not dock our pups tails! It is all natural here from the ears to the tips of their beautiful tails. We do not support animal cruelty! All our breeding dogs are Embark DNA tested to assure us (and you) that we are breeding healthy dogs.

Our puppies are socialized with our grandchildren and friends we invite to come over and play with them. The puppies are handled regularly. They are raised in the house with us so they are desensitized to household sounds and activities. We so use the Early Neurological Stimulation program from 3 days old through their 3rd week. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Socialized with Children, Household Desensitization, Touch Desensitization, and Early Neurological Stimulation.
All puppies are vaccinated, dewormed, and seen by a licensed veterinarian before going to their new homes.
We send our puppies home with Blanket with Littermates' and Mom's scents, Microchipped , Vaccinations, Puppy Starter Kit, Food Starter Bag, and Certificate of Health.
Why Kathleen started breeding
I grew up in a family of dog lovers. After I married and convinced my husband that we needed a Schnauzer, we brought home a beautiful Black girl. She was so smart and the best temperament. We were asked by friends to breed her so they could have one. I had experience in breeding previously with Yorkies and as a child growing up on a farm. I'm an avid reader and study breeding practices to keep up to date on situations that could arise during breeding/birthing process. One of my happy moments is giving over a pup to its new family.
Kathleen has been a member of Good Dog for almost 6 years
