Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind North Dakota Corgis located in New Salem, ND. My husband, Levi, and I raise show quality, healthy, and happy AKC Pembroke Welsh Corgis! We absolutely adore this breed and we are looking for other families who feel this same way.

Molly’s experience

  • About Molly

We are Molly and Levi Backhaus. My husband grew up on a grain farm & cattle ranch. He also helped his family raise, train and race thoroughbred horses. I grew up on a diversified livestock farm where I fell in love with animals of all sorts! We were both involved in 4-H, FFA and rodeo. Thanks to our youth years we understand the importance of selective breeding and animal husbandry. Our Corgis have plenty of safe space to run and play on our ranch! You will see many pictures of our corgis interacting with other animals and our children! We love our corgis and hope you do too!

  • What makes Molly’s program special

We strive for quality corgis not quantity. We have only a few adult corgis. Each female has one planned litter a year. Expect to wait 6 months for a puppy.

More about Molly

  • Why Molly started breeding

Our journey began 16 years ago when we purchased our first AKC Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which was our very first pet. We instantly fell in love with the breed and have never looked back! Through the years we realized there was not much diversity in the corgi bloodlines in North Dakota. Digging deeper into bloodlines is what lead us to the small group of quality breeding pairs we have now.

  • Molly has been a member of Good Dog for about 5 years

Molly was screened for responsible practices and has been a member since 2020.

  • Molly’s program includes three colors

Molly’s Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies include black and tan, red, and sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
