I'm the breeder behind Oak Knoll Doodles located in Ramona, CA. Consistency in appearance, temperament and socialization are what we, at Oak Knoll Doodles of Southern California, pride ourselves on. All our parents are genetically tested. Puppies start out on the ENS training, are Vaccinated, dewormed, microchip, and vet checked before they go home.

    I have always loved dogs! A couple years ago, I started breeding Bernedoodles. They stole my heart with their goofy personalities, gentle spirit and loyal demeanor. My puppies are raised in my home and my world revolves around them! I love my dogs and the ability to share a well bred, healthy dog with my puppy families brings me so much joy!

  • What makes Darla’s program special

    My program is top-notch! I only breed health tested dogs, while maintaining the importance of confirmation and temperament! All the puppies start off on ENS Training, start potty training at 3 1/2 weeks, are dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, come w one month free Pet Insurance and are Vet checked before they go home. I offer lifetime support to my Puppy Families!

Getting a puppy from Darla

Darla has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices range from $3,500 - $5,500 and include a non-refundable deposit of $500.

“This price includes our two year guarantee against major genetic defects (see contract), first vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, Vet checked, and one month free pet insurance. A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to be placed on the waitlist. Once the puppies are born and you are choosing from a specific litter, the second half of the deposit is due, totaling $500.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. What's included

Enrichment and socialization

Our puppies are exposed to ENS training Starting at day 3 thru 16. At 3 weeks old we start potty Training. By the time they go home, they are 90% potty trained to the trays/grates. At four weeks, they start going into the living room or on the patio once a day for recess. This allows them to explore new areas and toys. They are also well socialized with friends and family. I utilize the following enrichment methods: We litter train our puppies by 4 weeks which makes crate training very easy., Puppy Culture, Early socialization, surface and tactile stimulation, Scent Introduction, Noise desensitization, Potty pads,, Human Interactions , Puppy Culture , Potty Training, Introduced to people of different ages and appearances, Socialized with other dogs, Daily handling, Scent introduction, Socialized in new places, Socialized with children, Surface & tactile stimulation, and Various sounds.

Puppy health practices

All puppies are up-to-date on their vaccines when they go home, have been vet checked, dewormed, and microchipped. We also offer free pet insurance for the first 30 days.

Extras

We send our puppies home with Blanket with mom & littermates’ scent, Microchip, Initial potty training, Puppy starter kit, Toys, and Vet records.

Pick up your puppy in Ramona, CA or nearby

If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.

Get your puppy dropped off to you

Work with a trusted flight nanny to get your puppy comfortably dropped off at an airport or meeting point close to home.

  • Why Darla started breeding

    From 1980 to 1994, I bred AKC Dachshunds and Labradors. After taking a long break while raising my children, transitioning to Bernedoodles was a no-brainer. Their looks and personalities are like none other. You can tell I’m biased. I love the whole process, whelping the litter, raising them, and sending them off to their beautiful families.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1B), Bernese Mountain Dog Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
