Meet the breeder
I'm the breeder behind Peachy Keen Border Collies located in Gloucester, VA. Puppies are raised in my home and handled daily. Mom and pups are up to date on vaccines, worming, & temperament tested. We temperament test our puppies before owners make their final selection. We feel that matching temperament, personality traits and drive levels is extremely important when helping an owner choose their new puppy. We ask that you contact us by phone interview before you are officially accepted for one of our puppies.

I’ve been showing and breeding since '97. All dogs are health tested. I am a full-time dog trainer, behaviorist, and AKC CGC evaluator.
What makes Chris’s program special
I do not allow new owners to choose a puppy at birth. While they may have a favorite, choices are decided after temperament testing at 7 1/2 weeks.

Getting a puppy from Chris
Chris has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices range from $1,800 - $3,000 and include a non-refundable deposit of $300.
“Puppy pet/companion prices are $1800.00 for males, 2000.00 for females. This price reflects limited registration and you are under contract to spay or neuter your border collie. On occasion we offer select puppies to show or breeding homes, AKC Full Registration price is 3000.00. Deposit amounts can vary based on the total amount of a puppy. Typical deposit amount is 300.00.”

Chris may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. What's included
Enrichment and socialization
By using a variety of toys with different textures, handling on a daily basis. Outside they have a safe pen to see the other farm animals, and our house dogs and cats. Inside I teach a potty box in an ex-pen. They have a clean play area and the box in one corner of the pen. Crate training in pairs at 5 weeks for an hour at a time. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Crate Training, Toys, e.g. Ball, Texture Stimulation, Touch Desensitization, Socialized with Cats, Socialized with Adult Dogs, and Socialized with Other Animals.
Puppy health practices
Puppies and mom are seen by our vet at least twice before leaving. They receive all necessary inoculations and wormings, flea medications. Pyrantel and Panacur following the vet's recommendations.

We send our puppies home with treats and Toy with Littermates' Scent.
Bringing your puppy home
Chris offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
Pick up your puppy in Gloucester, VA or nearby
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
Get your puppy dropped off to you
Work with a trusted transporter to get your puppy comfortably dropped off at a meeting point close to home.

Why Chris started breeding
When I fell in the love with the breed in '94. I wanted to improve the temperament, health, and structure in my breed.
Chris has been a member of Good Dog for about 5 years
Chris was screened for responsible practices and has been a member since 2020.
Chris’s program includes five colors
Chris’s Border Collie puppies include black, lilac, gold, red merle, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
