I'm the breeder behind Primo Kennels located in Powder Springs, GA. We strive to produce high-quality, healthy Dogo Argentino with a focus on exceptional working ability and temperaments. Dogo Argentino are an incredible breed, and we decided to start our breeding program in order to preserve the wonderful qualities we found in our dogs. They excel both in their work and as companions. We are dedicated to improving our lines with each generation so that the breed will continue to thrive for a long time to come.

Getting a puppy from Terrence

Terrence has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices range from $2,500 - $4,500 and include a non-refundable deposit of $500.

“The price includes the guarantee, BAER test, AKC or UKC registration, first round of vaccinations, deworming, puppy socialization, and ear cropping of specific puppies. DEPOSIT: Seller hereby accepts a non-refundable deposit of $500.00, which shall be paid concurrently with the execution of a Purchase Agreement and shall be applied towards the purchase price of the puppy. Seller shall not hold a puppy for Buyer, nor place name on wait list, until said deposit has been received. DEPOSIT ROLL OVER: Buyer shall be entitled to one roll over of their deposit to a future litter (pass up litter on which they are wait-listed). After one roll over, the purchase price of this contract will adjust to the current sales price at the time Buyer actually brings a puppy home.”

Enrichment and socialization

Our puppies are well-adjusted to a home environment and socialized with children and other dogs. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Daily handling, Scent introduction, Socialized in new places, Socialized with children, Surface & tactile stimulation, Car rides, Various sounds, car riding , Noise desensitized , Fireworks , Various Surfaces , Noises , Strangers, Toys, e.g. Ball, Touch Desensitization, Sound Stimulation, Grooming Desensitization, Socialized with Adult Dogs, and Socialized with Children.

Puppy health practices

All puppies are vaccinated and taken to the vet for a health check before going home.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
