About Shana
It is my passion to responsibly breed, raise, and socialize healthy, happy puppies so that others can enjoy the gift of having a German Shepherd. It is important to me that I am breeding versatile, well-rounded, socialized, and healthy puppies for families to welcome into their homes and hearts. I sincerely hope that someday I can help you find your next best friend.
What makes Shana’s program special
I am selective about my dogs, and ensure they are healthy prior to breeding. The health and temperament of my puppies are my number one priority. I am very conscious about who gets my puppies and always ensure that each one goes to the best home possible, and I offer support for life. I love what I do and truly want the very best for my puppies and their forever families.

Why Shana started breeding
My parents had a shepherd when I was born, and we quickly became best friends. I've had a shepherd most of my life and to me they truly are the best breed. I want to do my part and responsibly breed healthy, well-rounded pups to make great companions. I am fairly new to breeding, but I love learning and sharing my passion for German Shepherds with those who love the breed just as much as I do!

About Valka
Valka is my sweetheart, very gentle, attentive, intelligent, and beautiful girl (might be biased). She is naturally territorial of her home and of me. She wants to be wherever I am no matter what I am doing. She is an excellent house dog but also does great hanging outside for hours on end. I feel very safe having her around. She loves to go places with me and has always gotten compliments on how calm and well-mannered she is while we are out. She has a high prey drive and medium food drive. Butterflies are her arch enemy, and she could chase them all day. Valka can be intensely focused and constantly on the go when she's on the hunt but has a really nice off switch making her an awesome house dog. She can be left out unattended for hours on end and I know she won't destroy anything. Except squeaky toys, she is very driven to destroy all squeakers. Valka is a black and tan blanket back with intermediate red pigmentation. She also carries recessive black. She is stock coat and only carries stock coat. She is a larger female with large bone structure.

Shana's Shepherds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
