I'm the breeder behind Shelley Smith's Golden Retrievers located in Glendora, CA. I am a preservation breeder striving for quality, health, and to ensure the future of the Golden Retriever for generations to come. I strive to produce outstanding puppies that are structurally sound, healthy, intuitive, and have wonderful temperaments. I love working with my dogs and seeing the positive effect that a well-behaved, furry companion can have on his or her family.

I do everything I can to socialize my puppies. I want them to be easily trainable and have a smooth transition to their new home. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Avidog and Puppy Culture.

All puppies visit the vet for a health check and are dewormed and vaccinated prior to rehoming.

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
