I'm the breeder behind Skyborne Australian Shepherds located in Woodford, VA. We focus on show and performance puppies with great temperaments and a natural off-switch. Our dogs are registered with Australian Shepherd Club of American and/or the American Kennel Club and they are health tested before any breeding takes place.
About Briley
I am a small hobby breeder of Australian Shepherds; our dogs are first and foremost our family members. I fell in love with the breed when I was fourteen years old and acquired one of my own when I was sixteen. Tala's biddability and intelligence encaptivated me and I have yet to look back; they will always be a breed I hold near and dear to my heart.
What makes Briley’s program special
Australian Shepherds are known to be a versatile dog and a great family companion. I focus on producing a dog of sound mind and body, highly intelligent, athletic and biddable - one that can be competitive in the ring during the day to being a couch potato in the evening.
Briley is a member of 4 clubs

We raise our puppies with Puppy Culture protocols. This is a program that walks you through each stage of development starting with ENS from day one. Each litter is raised in our home around our friends and family to ensure that they are exposed to many different sounds, sites and smells. At 7 weeks of age, my puppies will be evaluated for both temperament and structure. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Socialized with other animals, Introduced to people of different ages and appearances, Socialized with other dogs, Daily handling, Scent introduction, Socialized with children, Socialized in new places, Surface & tactile stimulation, Car rides, Various sounds, Noise desensitized , Problem Solving Skills, Training program developed based on Volhard Temperment Test Results, Avidog, Socialized with Adult Dogs, Children and other pets, Outdoors (when Weather permits), Puppy Culture , Name recognition , Confidence building, problem solving, eye contact, Puppy Culture , Early Socialization, We litter box train our puppies by six weeks of age and begin crate training to develop positive experiences that make potty training easier for you., We play noise densensitizing music videos to expose your puppy to sounds that may otherwise trigger a negative response from your puppy (doorbells, fireworks, barking dog, children playing, men talking, etc.), "No" Biting or Chewing, and Clicker Training.
My puppies receive their first wellness exam at 3 days of age by a licensed veterinarian. They are vet checked at 7 weeks of age, where they receive their first puppy shot, have their microchips inserted and a wellness exam at this time before they are released to go to their new homes. They are kept on a regular bi-weekly worming schedule and seen by the vet as needed outside their normal exams.
We send our puppies home with Basic obedience & manners, Registration, Initial potty training, Vet records, Puppy starter kit, Toys, Food & treats, Microchip, Blanket with mom & littermates’ scent, Food Starter Bag, ASCA Registration, AKC Registration, Blanket with Mom's Scent, and Blanket with Littermates Scent.
Briley offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.

Why Briley started breeding
I began breeding in 2007 with a goal in mind - I wanted to produce a versatile dog that was both a partner and a companion. Tala taught me the importance of not just being an owner, but being a team. I wanted to produce likeminded dogs that would teach their owners the same lessons that Tala taught me.
Briley has been a member of Good Dog for over 4 years
Briley was screened for responsible practices and has been a member since 2020.
Briley’s program includes four colors
Briley’s Australian Shepherd puppies include black tri-color, red tri-color, red merle, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

About Halo
Halo is a very sweet girl with loads of personality. She loves to carry her toys around the house and always has something in her mouth! I love to tell her to 'Go get your baby' and she will run to the toy bin and select whichever toy suits her fancy at that time. She is very affectionate and gives the best cuddles. One of my favorite things about her is she has the biggest aussie grin.

Skyborne Australian Shepherds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Dentition
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
