I'm the breeder behind SunMist Golden Retrievers located in Muncie, IN. I show and breed Golden Retrievers. I pride myself in raising healthy, versatile, lovable pups and prepare them to excel in life. I have been breeding for 35 years and have devoted a great deal to ensure I produce athletic and well-structured canines that can excel within various performance venues and have the ability to be the greatest family companions. I am proud to raise these wonderful dogs and always commit to maintaining the highest quality standards for my program.
About Teresa
When my children were little we wanted a dog that would get along well with our children. A vet suggested Goldens. That has fostered a lifelong love for the breed.
What makes Teresa’s program special
I'm not sure anything makes me more special than any other breeder who loves their dogs and who wants to breed a dog that is healthy and to the breed standard. I ask for and listen to the advice of those who know the breed better than I and I strive to breed dogs that I know I can love and be proud to place in homes that will love their dog forever.

Truly this is too long to post. I spend 24/7 with the puppies their first week, after that, I only leave for brief periods to run errands. Puppies hear a CD that has noises that puppies need accustomed to such as motorcycle, fire/paramedic, fireworks, household noises, cats, dogs, etc. Puppies are introduced to children, adults, toys of many varieties, different floor coverings, etc. They are moved from the whelping box to a playpen with shreds for potty training and more toys. When the weather permits, they go out of doors and are exposed to a balance beam, wobble board, teeter totter, tunnel, etc. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Toys, e.g. Ball, Socialized with Children, Human Interactions, Outdoors, Exposure to Agility Tunnel and Wobble Board, Potty Training, Various Surfaces, Household Desensitization, and Noise Desensitization.
Puppies are dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. They get their first DHLPP at 8 weeks prior to going to their new homes and have a first vet visit at 8 weeks.
Your puppy may come with extra benefits, like a small bag of food or a toy carrying the scent of their littermates. While SunMist Golden Retrievers hasn’t shared specifics yet, we encourage you to reach out directly to learn what thoughtful extras they may include to help your puppy transition comfortably into their new home.
Teresa offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
