    Sunny Skies is a small kennel that is veteran owned and operated by Sunny Freeman. Sunny has been able to produce a well rounded solid dog making great family members, hunting partners, and hunt test runners.

  • What makes Sunny’s program special

    I am not a big kennel. My dogs and puppies are raised in the house alongside our older dogs. We train and title all of our dogs. All our dogs are health tested and submitted on OFA for all to view.

Getting a puppy from Sunny

Sunny has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices range from $1,500 - $2,000 and include a non-refundable deposit of $300.

What's included

Enrichment and socialization

We have friends and family come over and socialize with our pups. Also, early training sit, down, come to whistle. They all start kennel training also. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Various sounds, Surface & tactile stimulation, Socialized with other animals, Introduced to people of different ages and appearances, Socialized with other dogs, Daily handling, Scent introduction, Socialized with children, and Basic Obedience Commands.

Puppy health practices

Puppies have their dewclaws removed, dewormed multiple times, first shots and health check-up. .

We send our puppies home with Toys, Puppy starter kit, Vet records, Microchip, Registration, Blanket with mom & littermates’ scent, Food & treats, AKC Registration, Food Starter Bag, Microchip, Puppy Collar, Vaccinations, and Blanket with Littermates' and Mom's scents.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Brucellosis

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
