I'm the breeder behind SureShot Weimaraners located in West Valley, NY. We strive to breed-hard hunting, healthy Weimaraners with natural ability and excellent temperaments. We breed only one to two litters per year, and put tremendous planning and forethought into each litter we produce. We are dedicated to our dogs and their families for the lifetime of the pups and beyond. Please note that we sell to hunting homes only.
About Carey
We brought our first Weimaraner home in December of 2009, and had no idea how our lives would change. Ten years later, we've hunted over our dogs from New York to Nebraska, become active in AKC Field events, are members in good standing of the Weimaraner Club of America, and are active in NAVHDA.
What makes Carey’s program special
Our dogs are raised in our home, and have wonderful temperaments as they are family members first. They have an off-switch in the home, but are driven and talented in the field and water. We are committed to the dogs and their families for the lifetime of the pup, and beyond.
Carey is a member of 3 clubs
NAVHDA, WCA, Finger Lakes Chapter of NAVHDA
Carey has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Puppy prices range from $1,500 - $1,800 and include a refundable deposit of $400.
Carey may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Carey offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Carey directly.
Puppies meet a variety of people throughout the 8 weeks they spend with us, of all ages. They receive early exposure to crates and crate training, car rides, outdoor time, exposure to birds and water (weather permitting). We raise our puppies using the Puppy Culture Protocol.
We use a low-dose working protocol on the dam throughout gestation, and pups are wormed at 6 and 8 weeks. They receive first vaccinations, vet checks, and an eye exam prior to heading to their new homes. They are also microchipped.
We send our puppies home with AKC Registration, NAVHDA Registration, Microchip, Puppy Collar, Puppy Leash, Blanket with Littermates' and Mom's scents, Food Starter Bag, Certificate of Health, and Lifetime Support.
Carey offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
“We don't ship our puppies, but would be happy to try and assist with pickup if you're traveling a long distance. We prefer to have you come to our home to pick up, and meet us and our pack. We are close to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport if you need to fly in.”
Why Carey started breeding
Thanks to a wonderful breeder, mentor, and friend, I was encouraged to think about breeding. After co-breeding a litter together, she and a village of mentors and friends continue to guide us. We're dedicated to preserving the Weimaraner as a versatile breed, and strive to produce hard-hunting, intelligent, healthy, sound dogs with natural ability and solid temperaments.
Carey has been a member of Good Dog for almost 5 years
