I was co-editor of the Standard Schnauzer Club of America Source Book 4. I produced the interactive disc "The Standard Schnauzer", as well as the "Standard Schnauzer at a Glimpse" for AKC Judge's Education. This breed is my passion, and I love spending my life with them. They make my world go round, and I'm so excited to share Standard Schnauzer with you and your family.

I do everything I can to socialize my puppies. I want them to be easily trainable and have a smooth transition to their new home. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Crate Training, Various Surfaces, Sound Stimulation, Household Desensitization, Human Interactions, and Socialized with Other Animals.
All puppies are dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, and receive vet exams before rehoming.
We send our puppies home with Notebook with Standard Schnauzer Articles, Pedigree and Early Puppy Photos, Crate, Vaccinations, Toy with Littermates' Scent, Puppy Leash, Puppy Collar, Microchip, Food Starter Bag, Certificate of Health, Blanket with Mom's Scent, and AKC Registration.

Tosca Standard Schnauzers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Standard Schnauzers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Dilated Cardiomyopathy (Schnauzer Type)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
