I'm the breeder behind Winsome Silken Windhounds located in Redmond, WA. I first fell in love with Silken Windhounds back in 2008 and I am continuously amazed by their grace, gentleness, and athleticism. strive to breed dogs that are healthy, wonderful companions with the ability to be competitive in conformation and performance events.

About Iola
There’s nothing I love more than spending time with my dogs, whether that be training, competing, or snuggling up at home. When breeding, I work hard to produce healthy, well-rounded puppies that can make other families and individuals just as happy as my dogs have made me! I am so grateful to be able to help each of my puppies' families experience the same level of joy that my dogs bring me.
What makes Iola’s program special
I focus on breeding dogs that have enough working drive to keep up with my lifestyle, but also have amazing temperaments and can quickly adapt to a calm family setting. I genuinely cherish Silken Windhounds and I am committed to looking out for the breed as a whole. I know the health and status of every dog I have bred and am proud of the temperament and beauty of my quality puppies.

Iola has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. What's included
Enrichment and socialization
I do everything I can to socialize my puppies. I encourage as many people to visit as possible. I want them to be easily trainable and have a smooth transition to their new, forever homes. I am very lucky to live next door to 3 wonderful Kids aged 4,6, and 8. They take visiting and socializing very seriously. We do lots of car rides and mini trips to expose them to new people, sights, and sounds. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Avidog.
Puppy health practices
My puppies receive all necessary vet recommendations before they meet their new families.
Extras
Your puppy may come with extra benefits, like a small bag of food or a toy carrying the scent of their littermates. Pick up your puppy in Redmond, WA or nearby
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
“I prefer to have families and individuals pick up locally whenever possible. IT allows you to meet all our dogs and the humans that make up the Winsome family. In the past I have flown puppies/dogs to the East Coast for new owners as well as exporting to the UK.”

Silken Windhounds have proven to be wonderful companions in my life, and it is a privilege to share that love with others. I am devoted to ensuring there are happy and healthy Silken Windhounds for others to enjoy, and I do so by responsibly growing this incredible breed. I really value the connections I form with my buyers and love to continue to watch my puppies grow up through their eyes.

Parent health testing
Silken Windhound
Excellent level
Winsome Silken Windhounds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Silken Windhounds.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
