I'm the breeder behind Wisteria Hills German Shepherds located in Lebanon, OR. We show, train, and breed quality, well-tempered German Shepherd dogs who are excellent representations of the breed. We focus on temperament above all, as well as conformation and health. Our dogs excel in various performance venues and, most importantly, in their forever homes as beloved family members.
About Peggy
I have owned German Shepherd Dogs for well over 35 years and have bred, showed, and trained for the past 25. My breeding program is a very small one, and I insist on only breeding the best representations of the breed to consistently produce high-quality, confident, highly trainable, and healthy dogs.
What makes Peggy’s program special
I strive to not only produce a confident and healthy dog, but one who will be highly trainable, great with children and strangers, and also beautiful to behold! One that catches the eye! I love what I do and am very proud of my dogs, my puppies, and my program.
Peggy has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Puppy prices range from $800 - $1,600 and include a refundable deposit of $300.
Peggy may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Peggy offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Peggy directly.
We have grown and teenage kids and grandchildren who help to socialize our babies. They are introduced to many friends as well. They spend time with our older dogs and are exposed to chickens and ducks on a regular basis. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Socialized with people, Socialized with Children, Socialized with Adult Dogs, and Socialized with Other Animals.
All my pups are health checked by our veterinarian, have first shots, and are dewormed starting at an early age of 3 weeks.
Your puppy may come with extra benefits, like a small bag of food or a toy carrying the scent of their littermates. While Wisteria Hills German Shepherds hasn’t shared specifics yet, we encourage you to reach out directly to learn what thoughtful extras they may include to help your puppy transition comfortably into their new home.
Peggy offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
Work with a trusted transporter to get your puppy comfortably dropped off at an airport or meeting point close to home.
Why Peggy started breeding
My love for German Shepherds started when I was a child and my grandmother introduced me to the breed. I started researching at an early age and learned a lot then, but didn't start showing and breeding until I was in my late 20s. I was looking for a GSD for a companion and a potential breeding prospect, and I had a difficult time finding a good breeder in my area who did all the health checks.
