I'm the breeder behind Alexis Weinstein located in Hawthorne, NJ. Our breeding goals are a conformationally correct dog that fits the three pillars of the Drentshe Patrijshond, an excellent hunting dog, an excellent family dog, and an excellent farm/alert dog.
Q. & A. with Alexis
Why did you start breeding?
I purchased my first Drent almost three years ago now after learning about the breed on a podcast. She has been absolutely everything I have been looking for in a dog and given the rarity of the breed I want to do whatever I can to keep this breed healthy and strong into the future.
What makes your program special?
I am breeding for a truly all-around hunting and sport dog with a built-in off switch in the home who also makes an excellent family companion. The foundation of my breeding program is Two Gun's Into The Wind BN RN JH CA BCAT SWN SCE SIA SEA SHDN CGC ATT NW2 L1I, a girl who is willing to try any sport, good at each one we've attempted, and still happy to snuggle up in bed or on the couch.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are white and brown. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
