For detailed information on how we raise our puppies visit this page (https://austerlitzshepherds.com/puppies/how-we-raise-our-puppies/ ) We follow the Puppy Culture protocols which include socializing with strangers - usually 4 formal visits and several informal visits before send-offs. We also do extensive enrichment - both passive environmental enrichment and active training enrichment. We give new owners instructions on how to continue this training, as well as to continue the crate training and house training we have started. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Leash Walking, Potty Training, Crate Training, Clicker Training, Manding, Puppy Culture Protocols, Socialized with Cats, Socialized with Adult Dogs, Socialized with Other Animals, Socialized with Elderly, Household Desensitization, Grooming Desensitization, Early Neurological Stimulation, Touch Desensitization, Toys, e.g. Ball, Chew, e.g. Bone, Sound Stimulation, Scents, and Structures, e.g. Climbing.
For detailed information on how we raise our puppies please visit the website (https://austerlitzshepherds.com/puppies/whatsetsusapart/) Our puppies are dewormed 4 times before placement as recommended by the AVMA guidelines. Puppies are vaccinated at 8 weeks with a 5-Way combo shot. Puppies visit the vet at 8 weeks to receive a check-up and a report of this is sent with the new family. The puppies are microchipped and we pay the lifetime enrollment fee. .
We send our puppies home with AKC Registration, Food Starter Bag, Microchip, Toy with Littermates' Scent, Blanket with Littermates Scent, Bone, Clicker, Treats, and Training resources.
Susanne offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
Work with a trusted transporter to get your puppy comfortably dropped off at a meeting point close to home.
Why Susanne started breeding
I originally started my breeding program to cater to dog sport trainers, however, our program has grown from this to specialize in breeding exceptional companion dogs. The goal of our program is to breed adaptable modern companion dogs - not a specialist in sport or show.
Susanne has been a member of Good Dog for over 5 years
Susanne was screened for responsible practices and has been a member since 2019.

About Kiro OFA IGP1 GpR1 CGC
We are very excited to add Kiro to our Austerlitz Shepherds breeding program. We would like to thank both Kiro’s breeder, Manny Vierra and his trainer, Monty Steele (Shepherds of Steele) for this amazing opportunity. We feel Kiro is a great fit for our breeding program. He has the correct, confident, and “fun to live and work” with temperament that is so important to us. He is a good natured dog who is friendly with humans and dogs, he’s great in the house, and travels extremely well. All traits we know are important for today’s companion dogs. Kiro is a German show line dog with the moderate, athletic, and “free of extreme” breed type we so value in our breeding program. Unlike many of todays dogs he is free from structural extremes, is naturally athletic, and beautiful. This makes him a perfect fit for the deliberately moderate and athletic structural type we have carefully preserved in our breeding program. Free of fads of structure that may inhibit a dogs athleticism, soundness, and longevity. We expect Kiro’s progeny to inherit his excellent health, beautiful structure, rich pigment, physical and mental soundness, and easy going disposition.
