I'm the breeder behind Bakura Afghans located in Austin, TX. My dogs are bred with a focus on conformation, health, temperament, and intelligence. My goal in breeding is to preserve what makes an Afghan Hound special.
About Toni
I have been showing Afghan Hounds since 1977. Not only do I compete in conformation but also obedience, rally, agility and lure coursing. I have had the #1 NOHS Afghan Hound three years in a row - 2016-2018. Also, one of my dogs was awarded the Versatility Award from our National Parent Club.
What makes Toni’s program special
I put a great deal of research into pedigrees. All my dogs have been health tested and results registered with the Canine Health Information Center (CHIC).

I have the neighbors' children come to play with them while they are young. As they get old enough, they go to handling classes and accompany me to dog shows. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Socialized with Children.
I make sure that all my puppies have been fully vaccinated, wormed and microchipped before leaving my home.
