Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind BellamyHills Corgis located in Belle Fourche, SD. We loooove our puppies. They are born in our home and stay with us 24/7 until they leave to their forever homes. We handle our puppies right away. We also use the Puppy Culture Socialization Method. This is a unique, in depth socialization protocol that’s starts at 3 days old and continues into adulthood. We find puppies who have been raised with this better adjust into adulthood. We use a litter box method to start house training and have had great results with it. We will show your puppy the crate this is a gentle introduction and we follow the puppy culture protocol. We will practice leash training with your puppy. Our children range in age from birth to big kid. They will be used to kids. But will still nip and jump and have normal puppy behaviors. Remember we give your puppy the right start. But you must continue training and exercising your puppy in order for them to be a successful member of your household. Please consider the time and energy required to care for another family member for the next 10-15 years before inquiring about a puppy. Can you devote time to house training your puppy? This takes 2 weeks of round the clock care and 6-18months of regular routine till puppy is mature enough to wait for long periods of time. Can you be patient while your puppy is learning? Are you comfortable with a puppy chewing your stuff? This is reality! Corgis chew for 1-2years. In our home, this helps my kids keep their toys picked up. (= Are you willing to exercise your puppy everyday for at least 30mins. This does not include being in a backyard. Your puppy will need to be walked or play fetch, or herd. Corgis need a job or they get into trouble. WE LOVE corgi tails but we do breed to AKC standard and do dock tails. We will leave them on mismarked puppies (puppies who have too much white to meet the breed standard) but do dock all others. If you have considered all these things, and are ready to meet your new best friend, let's chat! + Puppies are each unique. Please talk to me about your family and lifestyle so we can help you choose a new family member that already fits your place of life. I know each puppy. And will do all I can to ensure the best fit for your family. +When you place a deposit with us, you are reserving a pick spot. We now give families the option of puppies from the litter that we feel would best fit their lifestyle and wants (we do take gender and color desires into consideration but we do not sell based on color alone). You may occasionally be offered only one puppy from that litter if we feel we only have 1 that fits your family. If you choose not to select a puppy from the options you are given your deposit is not refundable but can be rolled over to another litter. Your deposit goes toward the total purchase price of your puppy. Total price must be paid in full by 8weeks of age. Choosing your puppy at 4-8 weeks rather than birth gives you better idea of each puppies personality so you can pick which one is right for your family. .

Q. & A. with Bethany

  • Why did you start breeding?

Love for dogs. But not being able to find a healthy, well bred dog in our area. This and working with rescues full of poorly bred dogs and uneducated people made me want to pursue both. Breeding allows me to raise amazing quality dogs, but also support people. Education is so important. As a breeder I am as passionate about educating people as I am about my dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

We breed to standard. We take everything from trainability, genetics, personality, health testing, longevity, maternal instincts, paternal instincts, reproductive health, and much more into account before we breed. Our dogs are pets first.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include fawn, red, sable, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
