I'm the breeder behind Bellvale Labradors located in Fallston, MD. Bellvale Labradors continues to improve the breed by doing our research with our testing. Our mission is to provide the healthiest of puppies/dogs and to continue to improve the longevity of life with the breed. 2 of my girls almost reached 16 years of age and were solid girls til the end.
Q. & A. with Wendy
Why did you start breeding?
It began with a little chocolate English Labrador we named Yoo-hoo. I fell in love and wanted others to feel the same love I did and still do to this day
What makes your program special?
I only breed with stud dogs who are shown and finished in the show ring. I meet all my stud dogs used and make sure there is a connection.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Opi is very very smart and can outsmart all others including her owner. She loves to eat money especially 100 dollar bills. She is one of my best hikers and swimmers. Her grandmother lived to be almost 16 years old
Parent health testing
Bellvale Labradors reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Labrador Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
